Identity collage

I really didn't really know how to tackle this project, as easy as it seems. I went through a million ideas before coming up with the final result. It's not very elaborate, but I did put alot of effort into making this as interesting and unique as I could. Before I get to the final result, lets take a look at the process!!

This was my first attempt at making a background for the collage.

This is a patch for the martial arts studio I attend, All In MMA. Although I haven't been there this semester so far, it has helped shape my ideas on mental and physical awareness, and the mastery of ones mind, body and spirit.

The eagle globe and anchor of the US Marines, and my rank upon leaving the Marines, and my signature. The Marines have definately help shape who I am today, and had to add something that gives a nod to the Marines.

Basically I wanted something that was minimal and artistic and used symbols that represent things in my life right now that shape and mold who I am today. I wanted the background to be sort of like an urban sidewalk, and everything on it being debris you would find on the ground. But in this case, the debris on the ground represents things that are important to me. The flyer is a representation of my musical tastes, and what I like to do on my free time. And obviously, the button and the kandy is a nod to the rave culture as a whole.

  1. Epicnova -- hey -- couldn't help but notice that you EXPLODED onto the Art100 / Blogging scene in January... and the gas has run thinner in Feb / Mar...

    Have we let you down?
    Been boring?
    Lost interest?

Your energy in class is really powerful and important!! Do LMK if there's a way to make things more engaging and inspiring the way it seems like you felt at the start.

Thanks for all your effort and for all the blog comments you've posted!!!

    See you in class!
