Pendulum and Giuseppe Ottaviani!

This weekend was a good get-away, went to the Wiltern in LA on Friday night to see drum n bass chemists Pendulum throw down only like they do, and then to Circus in Hollywood Saturday night to check out trance sensation Giuseppe Ottaviani. Both were excellent!
More energy with Pendulum, but thier sound system was either bad, broken or intentionally left low. It almost seemed like they had all thier amps at 6, instead of 11. ;) But what was crazy was that the balcony above was literally shaking from all the people dancing on it. It was crazy! Now Circus was really fun. A club atmosphere, and nothing but trance all night. I forgot to mention that both acts were live, meaning Pendulum were actually banging on the drums, strumming the strings etc, and Giuseppe was laying out live tracks via midi and laptops. Very interesting "live" electronica weekend! Also, I will be posting more today and tomorrow about lectures last week, and get started on my artist project on Coco Fusco. In the meantime, enjoy the pics!

  1. Awesome! I especially love the video clips, of course, since they really give us a taste of the experience.

Maybe for "New Media" we should have everybody make videos... or give them Garage Band and let them make their own Techno / Trance / Electronica...

Or they could sew clothes... or they could sew LED's into clothes and wear them to somebody else's techno performance in the basement / roof of the art department...

    Hmm... perhaps I digress...

Anyway... love all your posts! :)

  2. Thanks! I like taking video clips whenever possible to share the experience. That would be a fun idea! Not sure how everyone would react/enjoy the idea of using Garage Band to make music, but I would definately be ok with that! Id probably use Fruity Loops or Reason to make beats!

Do you think the campus would approve a class related music fest in the basement of the Art Building?!?! If so, that would be totally sweet!

Thank you for the kind words, I always appreciate them!
